Stuart Brooks wins CIPR Freelancer of the Year Award

Founder of Blackbird Communications, Stuart Brooks, has been honoured with the Freelancer of the Year Award for the Thames & Chiltern region of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Presented at the CIPR region's PRide annual awards ceremony, held at the Runnymede Hotel & Spa in Egham, Surrey, the event drew more than 150 public relations professionals from across the area.

Recognised for the use of new media in delivering exposure for his clients, Brooks was presented with his award by Deenita Pattni, Editorial Director of Xchangeteam recruitment consultants, the sponsor for the Freelancer of the Year category.

Commenting on his win, Brooks said:

"I'm thrilled to have achieved this recognition from the CIPR in only my second year running Blackbird Communications. I'm sincerely grateful to the support of my family and of course, my clients. It's a fantastic early Christmas present and will I'm sure, add greater credibility to my proposition in my efforts to develop the business next year."

Hosting the awards ceremony, Bernard Carey, Chairman of the CIPR Thames & Chiltern region said:
