Stuart Brooks awarded Highly Commended at 2011 Freelancer of the Year Awards

Having won the title Freelancer of the Year for Thames & Chiltern at the 2010 Chartered Institute of Public Relations regional PRide Awards, Blackbird Communications Managing Director, Stuart Brooks, has collected another accolade in recognition of his PR work.

At the 2011 National Freelancer of the Year Awards, held at the Gallery Soho in London, Brooks collected a Highly Commended in the PR and Communications category, which drew 43 entries and a shortlist of 16 finalists from across the UK.

Organised annually by specialist recruitment consultants, Xchangeteam, the Freelancer of the Year Awards recognise excellence within the freelance community in six different categories within the marketing, communications and media sectors.

Recognised for his use of new media in delivering tangible commercial benefit for his clients, Brooks was presented with his Highly Commended certificate by Richard Ellis (pictured centre) from the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA ), which sponsored the PR category and Emma Brierley, Xchangeteam Chairman.

Commenting on his achievement, Brooks said:

"I'm absolutely delighted to have earned a Highly Commended in such a competitive field of finalists this year. It's great to see so many freelance consultants doing brilliant work for their clients. There's no doubt that the value and return provided by freelancers is fast becoming a compelling proposition to businesses looking to generate exposure in their markets.
