Blackbird MD is finalist at CIPR Excellence Awards 2011
15 June 2011
Blackbird Managing Director, Stuart Brooks, was among five nominations for the inaugural Best Freelance Practitioner Award at this year's Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.
Having won the Freelancer of the Year Award for the Thames region at the CIPR PRide Awards last year, Brooks was thrilled to make the shortlist for the national contest, which required an interview with a panel of judges at the CIPR headquarters in London.
Although not a winner this time, Brooks's work was commended by the judges, who said:
"Very clear objectives and achievements are underpinned by solid endorsements. Stuart has clearly played to his strengths and become a trusted business advisor to his clients. This in turn has enabled him to pioneer techniques such as social media that were new to his sector, which has delivered his clients new business leads in the UK and overseas. Stuart has assiduously cultivated his network in the automotive industry to establish himself as an expert in the field."
Commenting on his nomination, Brooks said:
"I really am honoured to have my work recognised at a national level. This new category clearly drew some extremely strong candidates who are experts in their field. Although not a winner, it's great to receive such a commendation from the judges and this recognition certainly adds value to my business."
