Blackbird Communications was founded in 2009 and has offices in St Albans and Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Managing Director, Stuart Brooks, brings strategic counsel and creative flair to client partnerships with an eye for detail and a fierce determination to exceed expectations. With 25 years of experience across the whole communications mix, Stuart has worked across a diverse portfolio of commercial and not-for-profit sectors.  He is a triple winner of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Outstanding Independent Practitioner award in the Anglia, Thames and Chiltern region.

Associate Director Simon Wade, who runs the Berkhamsted office, has more than 20 years’ experience and in-depth PR expertise from senior roles within consultancy and in-house across all sectors of the motor industry and industrials. Simon was formerly PR Manager for Bosch in the UK with responsibility for all corporate communications activity across the company’s commercial and manufacturing divisions.

Defining what we mean by ‘PR’

Public relations is about managing reputation. It’s the process of building awareness and engagement with a business, brand or other organisation that also delivers commercial value. PR is the result of what you do, what you say and what others say about you. It’s the discipline that looks after reputation with the aim of earning trust and influencing opinion. In short, PR is the planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain goodwill and mutual understanding between an organisation and its publics.
